Autumn is (almost) here!

Hiya readers! I just wanted to let you know that I start high school tomorrow (gulp!) so my time for posting, pics, ect. will be limited. But, to make sure I don't completely forget to post at all, here are some things that I promise to do:

1. Update something doll-related at least once a week.
2. Post a photostory and a photoshoot by Thanksgiving.
3. Do something for my blog-versary (just over a month away!!!!)

Please try to be understanding, as I'm sure I'll have a lot of homework to do, plus I have volleyball practice every day.

I'm Back!

Hey guys, I have a huge announcement, despite the fact that I haven't posted in almost a month *readers pelt tomatoes* I promise that I am back for good now! This post is important for alot of different reasons, so please read the whole thing. First of all: I sewed a doll dres for my state's state fair! Here are some pics of the dress and the process of making it:

Here are all the pattern pieces! I printed it out at AG Playthings.com (A FANTASTIC website for collectors!) The only change I made to the pattern was I lengthened the skirt so the hem would be easier.

Everything all pinned out on my family's dining room table. I did a muslin before doing the real thing to make sure the pattern fit right. (It did.)

The finished product! I made Kirsten's school dress using Civil War reproduction fabric that my sewing teachers got me in Lancaster (they're the best!). I love the stripes so much!

Still more news: I may be changing my doll collection a bit, getting rid of clothes I don't use much anymore and may possibly, possibly  box up one or two of my dolls and put them in the attic to save for my daughter when I grow up. Don't worry, this is NOT the dreaded 'I've outgrown dolls' post, I'm just not using my dolls as much as I used to. I am completely OBSESSED with sewing doll clothes though, so this blog will be around for many years to come. :)

Even more News: I have a week of free time coming up, so if you have an idea for a post, let me know about and I'll do it!

New Blog Look!

As you can see, I decorated my blog for Memorial Day, complete with a picture from my Memorial Day I Heat American Girl contest entry. After I do this post I'm going outside to take some pics, so I'll have a photo story for you today or tomorrow. Happy Memorial Day!

I am neglectful blogger!

Sorry I haven't posted in almost two weeks. Or gone on anybody's else's website for almost that long. Sorry. Busy, busy, busy, well after June 17 (last day of school- can't wait!) I'll start posting more. I don't really have anything else to say, I'm just kinda confirming that I didn't drop off the face of the earth. New Blog Look and Poll!

Hello people of the world! It's Kailey here to tell you all about what's going on here at Pleasant View Academy, plus some new blog stuff. First off, the swimming season ended this past weekend. Chrissa did really well and even got mentioned in the local newspaper! (Of course, that happens to me all the time.) Molly started training for a horse show, I think she said it's in May. It's finally starting to get warm here! I wasn't so sure spring had truly sprung because of the snow and freezing temps. Anyway, as you can see there's a new blog background, plus a new poll! Okay, since I haven't recieved any entries with all the correct answers and only one entry at all, I'm extending the end date of my scavenger hunt. It will continue two more weeks, until April 8. Other news: Today is my birthday!!!! :) I already got a gift card to my favorite fabric store, which will probably go to some type of doll clothing eventually.

Also, sorry for the lack of pictures. I cannot figure out what happened to family's camera!!! I actually have not one, but TWO fully photographed posts, but I haven't uploaded the pics yet due to the fact that I can't find the camera.

And, sorry for the lack of posts in general. I'm getting toward the end of eighth grade, and on top of school work, spring cleaning and a school concert that's looming, I'm in a Good Friday drama for my church (I'm playing the devil!) and my school's play (I'm playing a nurse named Miss De Farge!) so I have lines to memorize for that, and I'm delivering a monologue at Church next week. Thank you for being understanding!

That's about it, hopefully I'll be able to post alot this weekend because I finished all of my weekend homework either in advance or in study hall today. YAY!!!!!!

I am in such a good mood!

Hello, people of the world! As you can tell from the title, I am in an extremely good mood right now for multiple reasons.

1. I WON EMMA'S CONTEST!!! Yay! All of the entries were really cool, I didn't really expect to win!

2. I HAVE TEN FOLLOWERS!!!!! Thanks to Karen, I have reached my first follower milestone! Stay tuned for a special post and challenge for that . . . . .

3. THE DEVILS WON LAST NIGHT!!!! For those of you who have no clue what I'm talking about, the Devils are a hockey team, in fact they are my favorite hockey team. :) I went to the game and now have a new favorite player, Tedenby! He is like a rocket on the ice. Whoosh!

4. MY ANSWER FOR THE YOU SAID IT ON AG WAS POSTED!!! If you go on 'Girl Buzz' in the 'Fun For Girls' section of the website, you see the 'You Said It!' thing. My answer was the one with the chocolate cupcake with vanilla icing and vanilla icecream inside. (You'll know what I mean if you look.)

World Wide Visitors!

Hey! I was just looking at my stats and saw that I had a couple of visitors from foreign countries, like China and Switzerland! St. Patrick's Day Photoshoot!

Hello! It's Kirsten. Yesterday we had a St. Patrick's Day photoshoot, as you can tell from the title. I know it's a little early for St. Patrick's day, but Katie's Irish and you know how they can get. :) Anyway, we decided we should all dress in green, which was a bit of a challenge, but we pulled it off. I'm going to narrate what's going on, so let's get started! (Some of the pictures turned out fuzzy- sorry)

"Where are Kit, Kailey and Emily?" Chrissa asks, well demands. "We agreed to meet by the green chair at Four o'clock, well it's four o three."

Then we see our friends. "Hi!" Emily calls. "What are you wearing?!?!?!" Chrissa shrieks.

"Kailey! You're wearing shorts and tights?" "Well, yeah. This was the only green thing I had, and I didn't want my legs to get cold."

"Emily, why are you wearing Kirsten's woolen socks?!" "Well the one has green on it, and I couldn't find the other. I hope you don't mind that I borrowed them, Kirsten." "Oh, it's fine," I assure her.

"Really, Kit! Socks with sandals?! That's the biggest fashion faux pas ever!" Kit shrugged. "I didn't was my feet to get cold."

Chrissa pretended to faint. I tried to catch her but accidentally missed. Oops.

Then we did this really cool thing that I cannot begin to describe. Chrissa refused to be next to one of the girls wearing 'outfits so unfashionable we should call the fashion police'. I think she's been looking at Cristal at Our Dolls a little too much. Hehehe . . . .

"Heheheh, I'm quite the gymnist," Kailey says.

"See?"

"I think I'll be Pipi Longstocking for Halloween next year," Molly giggles.

"Oh wait, you're taking the picture now?" (Sorry about the clothes pin)

"Just showing off the extent of my green outfit," Emily says proudly.

"WAIT!!! I'M STILL FIXING MY HAIR!!!!!"  

I kinda fell asleep. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

My American Girl Design An Outfit Contest Entry!

Super long title says it all. I designed an explorer outfit! Here are pics:

Here's the bulk of the outfit. You can kinda see my writing, but not really. The pants are capri-length cargo pants that have ties at the hem. The t-shirt is a tank that is nice and lightweight, and the hat is cowboy-style..

This outfit would come with dark brown hiking boots.

What's an outfit without accessories?! This one would come with binoculars, a deadly accurate compass, a pocket-sized guide to US birds, and a big water jug with a shoulder strap. All vitally important tools when exploring the Amazon or the nearby woods.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hello people of the world! It's Chrissa! Valentine's Day is officially my favorite holiday because today I found not one, not two, but FOUR Valentines from cute boys taped to my locker!!!!!! Is that awesome or is that awesome? Anyway, since you're probably not that interested in my personal life, here's some website news:
The last poll closed! As you can see, Historical Characters are the favorite of American Girl World readers. Katie's going to put up a new one soon, once she gets an idea.

So far as Beauty and The Beast: The musical won't be posted for awhile because Katie hasn't finished it yet! :( I know it's been a long time, and she and I appologize, but Katie has been extremely busy lately.

My First Contest!

As the title explains, with this post I am begining my very first contest! It's a guessing game, for the next play I'll be doing with my dolls. Twice a week (Tuesday and Saturday) I'll give you a hint as to what play it is going to be. The hint could be anything from a picture to the name of an actor/actress who played the main part in the original professional performance. Once somebody guesses (By commenting) what the play will be correctly, they win! What you're probably all really wondering is WHAT'S THE PRIZE? Well, since this is my first contest, I'll start with a fairly small prize: a blog award (designed by me) and a look at the play a week before everyone else gets to see it! (We'll work out exactly how we'll do this, but I have ideas) I'll also send you sneak peaks occasionally, if you'd like.

Here's the first hint:
It's a musical!

The hints will get better as the contest progresses.

One more thing, this contest has a few rules:
1. Have your parent's permission; if you win you will most likely have to give me your e-mail address. (I will not share it, and I won't e-mail you after the contest if you do not want me to.)
2. Don't guess more than once per clue, please! If you do guess more than once on the same clue, I will delete the second and if it's right, it will not count.
3. If two people guess the right play on the same clue, I will give the prize to the person who posted the comment first. Why? Because that's the only fair way I see. (The second person could have seen the first person's guess and just guessed it for that reason.)

Blog Updates

Hi! Molly here, just letting you know about some new blog updates. First, Katie put a picture on the header. I like it, it matches the snow theme. :) Do you like it? Also, there's a new poll up. If you could have one AG wish granted, what would it be? Please vote! There's a new page, as you might have noticed, called 'About Me' it just says a bit about how Katie got into AG. It all started with ME her first doll and still her favorite. Katie: Molly, you know I don't have favorites. Molly: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Anyway, last but not least, some behind the scenes stuff. We've started working on the next play! It won't be released for a couple of months, but Katie's making some of the costumes, which is why we're getting such a big head start. Soon there's going to be a contest about it, details soon! Hasta la vista!

Hey! Just saying that I discovered banners recently. I know it's kinda sad that I had no clue what a banner was until Emma told me, but now that I know what they are I love them!
