Priya's Holiday Foodie Tag!!

Hey guys! I just realized Priya tagged me a couple of days ago! The tag looked really fun, so here goes!

1. What’s your favorite holiday food?
Hmmmm, I'm going to have to go with my Grandma's sugar cookies. There're really yummy and we decorate them with colored sugar or cinnamon sugar (depending on what color we want) My mom and I made some last weekend and we finished them already! She said maybe we can make some next weekend. :)

2. Eggnog or hot cocoa?
Hot cocoa, especially Ghirrideli (forgive the terrible spelling). There's nothing like playing outside in the snow and then coming in to a warm cup of hot chocolate. :)

3. Have you ever eaten a non-dessert dish shaped as a holiday symbol (Christmas tree, menorah, etc.)?
Yes! I ate Christmas tree and Snowman shaped bagels once. They were really yummy! :)

4. Do you know what a latke is? If so, have you ever eaten one?
I do know what a latke is, but I always pronounce it wrong and then my Jewish friends laugh at me, lol :). I have eaten many latkes and they are very yummy!

5. What is the first food-and-holiday-related word that comes to your mind?
Milk and cookies :)

6. What is your favorite holiday food to cook with your family/friends?
My Grandma's sugar cookies. They're the kind you use cookie cutters for, and I love, love, LOVE cutting them out. :) I may be a teenager but I'm a four-year-old at heart :)

I tag Emma S., Emma Wright, Hannah Wright, and anybody who got hungry while reading this!

ONLY 14 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!! :D :D :D (Like I said, 4-year-old at heart)

Bye! Thanks for reading!

I Survived . . . XD

Woah, long time no post! Sorry about that guys, but about a week ago a huge noreaster ripped through my state! The title's mostly a joke, but there was a fatal car accident only about a block from my house.
:( :( :( :(

Anyway, I was mostly letting you guys know I'm still alive. The power was out at my house from early Sunday morning to late Wednesday night. I had a snow day on Halloween :) And the next day too, because there wasn't any power at my school. Anyway, once we got back on Wednesday all of my teachers decided to load us with homework to try to make up for the lost days, hence the lack of posting. As soon as I get some time (maybe Wednesday, we'll see) I'm going to post a photo story I made AGES (well, two weeks) ago. It's for Halloween, so it's a little late, but I thought you guy'd like to see it anyway. :)

Halloween was kinda funny for me because there was snow everywhere while I was trick-or-treating. :) But, since there were still wires down all over the place a lot of kids didn't go this year. :( I went as a pirate named Anne Bonny (real person!) and I carried a stuffed parrot that I named Clyde (get it, Bonny and Clyde?)! My dolls dressed up, too, you'll see their costumes in the photostory!

Bye, guys! Thanks for reading!

Really True Confessions of an American Doll Collector

Hey guys, I was in a posting mood and thought I'd share some of my darkest moments of doll collecting.

1. In fifth grade I told a girl in my class I thought dolls were babyish because she had just teased another girl for still playing with dolls
2. My brother and I used to throw my dolls (cheap ones, not AG dolls or Bitties) across the basement.
3. My AG dolls have spent many a night in the bottom of a bin (Please don't turn me into the DPS!)
4. Right before I started this blog I was considering putting all of my dolls in attic until I become a mom and could give them to my daughters
5. I once named a doll Milk (I couldn't think of a good name and there were milk bottles on his overalls) but then changed his name to John Jacob Jingle Heighmer Schmit
6. I once named a doll Bolbie
7. I used to have a doll, Azalea, who cut school regularly to race go-karts with Bolbie and was a major tycoon
8. I don't really like Cabbage Patch kids or Barbies. Don't really know why, but I though I'd throw that in

So, as you can see, I've hade some dark moments of doll collecting. Hopefully none of this stuff ever happens again!

On a completely unrelated note, my 100th post will be coming up (This is #88, I think) So maybe my 1st year blogger anniversary (Nov. 8th!) will be the same day. Wouldn't that be cool? :) Might have to have a contest or something to celebrate, thoughts, readers?

Adios!

Random Updates

AGH! I'm a terrible blogger! I haven't updated in like a week and a half. Sorry 'bout that. BUT I promise that will change soon because I Graduated from 8th grade today so no more school work until September. My family went out for lunch and I got to see my baby second cousin, James. He's a cutie pie :) My class leaves for Washington DC tomorrow morning at 5:41 AM, and we get back late Wednesday, so on Thursday I'll have pics of the doll display I set up the other day, I promise. Well, that's just about it. Thanks for reading!

I decided To create my own tag . . .

Hiya! I was seriously in a blogging mood but I couldn't think of anything to blog about, so I decided to create my own tag! (There's not some unwritten rule against that, right?) Anyway, so for the tag you have to say your favorite . . .
1. Movie
2. Book
3. Store
4. Food
5. Dessert (I know 4 and 5 can overlap, but just say that they do)
6. Outfit (describe it)
7. TV Show

Sound like fun? I'll start by doing it.

1. My favorite movie is the Newsies (watch "Sieze the Day" on Youtube, it's awesome!)
2. My favorite book is 'A Northern Light' by Jennifer Donnelly
3. My favorite store is either khols or Johann Fabric
4. My favorite food is my mom's Chinese Chicken
5. My favorite desert is Chocolate indulgence cake from King Arthur
6. My favorite outfit consists of pale Burmuda-length shorts, a red cami and a light orange, white and pale yellow thin plaid shirt.
7. My favorite TV show is a tie between M*A*S*H and The Waltons (I love shows from the 70's!)

I tag Emma from My American Girl, Emma Wright, Hannah Wright, Priya from AG Playground, Gabby from I heart American Girl, and anyone else who thinks this looks like fun!

~Katie~

Never Grow Up Disney Blog Party!

So I found this really cool websit called Never Grow Up and it's having a give-away where to enter you answer some questions about Disney Movies. The owner of the blog also said that if we just wanted to answer the questions but not enter the give-away, that was okay too, so that's what I'm going to do!

1. What is your all-time favorite animated Disney Film and why?
Peter Pan, definately. I am obsessed with Peter Pan, partially due to the Peter and the Starcatchers series by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. I love the song 'You Can Fly' and I think Tinkerbelle is so awesome! I also love how Peter is such a little kid at heart even though he looks like a teenager.

2.  What is your all-time favorite Disney/Pixar film and why? [Note:  I realize that questions 1 and 2 may overlap...I just thought this would make it easier for those of us who have favorites in both categories. ;}]
My favorite Pixar movie is Toy Story. I first watched it when I was about five, and have loved it ever since. I also love Toy Story 2, and I heard Toy Story 3 is great, but I haven't seen it.

3.  What was the first animated Disney film you remember seeing?
Either 'The Fox and the Hound' or a Winnie the Pooh short that involved them throwing ice cream at each other in a western bar. (I haven't watched it in years and don't remember the name of it.) My grandparents used to have these and other Disney movies at their house by the beach. Whenever it rained and we couldn't go swimming, we would watch a movie. The Winnie the Pooh one was my favorite and 'The Fox and the Hound' was my brother's favorite.

4.  It's talent night at your school/job/etc...You have to perform a Disney song.  Which one would you choose?
That's a tough one, probably either 'Home' or 'Beauty and the Beast' from Beauty and the Beast.

5.  Name your top 4 Disney heroes or heroines (or any character, for that matter) and talk a little bit about why you admire them.1. Belle from Beaty and the Beast. She's so intelligent, caring and loving!
2. Tigger from Winnie the Pooh. He's my favorite Winnie the Pooh character and he just has so much energy and is so positive!
3. Jasmine from Aladin. She is so strong and beautiful and is willing to go against the grain.
4.Jessie from Toy Story 2. She is just awesome and energetic!

6.  Who, in your opinion, is the most hideous Disney villain of all time?
The most hideous? I guess Cruella DeVil from 101 Dalmatians. (Especially in this picture!)

7.  If you could spend a day with any Disney character, who would you choose?  How would you spend your day?
I would spend it with Peter Pan and we would fly to Neverland and he would show me the mermaids and they would NOT splash me like they did to Wendy in the movie. We would probably end our day by stealing and hiding something from Captain Hook.

8.  Which Disney character is the most like you?I'm like Belle because I really love to read, but I'm also a bit like Wendy because I can get bossy and want to take care of little children, and I think I have a sense of adventure like Jessie, so I guess I'm a mix of a few characters!

9.  What, in your opinion, is one of the greatest movie moments in an animated Disney film?
In Aladin during the song 'A Whole New World'.

10.  If you could pick which film Disney would make next, what would the film be?
Hmmmm, this is a really tough one. All of my favorite fairy tales have already been made into Disney Movies! Maybe something about Amelia Bedelia.

This was really fun to do! Thanks for reading!!

Hello!

Sorry I haven't been updating lately. This is due to a lack of ideas!!! Ugh, it's like all the creativity has been sucked out of me by a giant vaccum cleaner! Forgive the totally irrational randomness. Anyway, today I was trying to take pics for PPAG, but I can't think of a modern celebrity that inspires me!!! (Or Chrissa for that matter!) So, if anybody has ideas for posts or knows about a really inspirational celebrity, I'd appreciate a comment!

Also, thank you to my numerous new followers! You guys rock!!!!!

~Katie~

PS: Here's a poem:
When I Misplace My Brain
When I misplace my brain,
I feel quite insane.
I can't think straight,
And I just can't wait,
To find it again.
Once it was stolen by men
Who ate with their feet
And each other they beat.
They couldn't find their minds, you see,
That's why they took mine from me.
Ah, here's my brain,
It's behind the whole grain!
Thank goodness it's found,
Or else I'd be bound
For who knows where,
But it wouldn't be nice, I declare!

Molly's Birthday Party

Hi everyone! It's Molly and today I celebrated my Birthday! It was really on friday, but my friends and I decided to celebrate it today because friday was Good Friday. My party didn't quite start out the way I had planned. You see . . . .

"Oh no!" I cried this morning, "It's raining out, but I was going to have my party outside!!!!"

Suddenly, Katie walked up. "What's wrong, Molly?" she asked. "I was going to have my Birthday party outside today, but it's raining! Emily and I are going back to the 1940's tomorrow to see our families, so the party has to be today! Plus, everyone dressed up in 40's clothing to celebrate!" I explained in a panic.

"If you and the rest of the girls are good, you can have your party in our basement, if you want," Katie said kindly, taking my hand. I was really excited, I'd never been to the human part of the campus before! "Oh, we'll be good," I said quickly, "I promise!"

First my friends and I decided to play rock band. This was quite difficult as the instruments are made for human-sized players. They should really accomodate those who are vertically challenged, like us.

I was in charge of the red and yellow parts of the drums. When one of those colors came across the screen, I kicked the right pad/button thing with my foot.

Emily was in charge of the blue and green part of the drum. She used a drumstick for the green part.

Kirsten was in charge of the orange part, but I don't think she really got the game. She didn't do so well, but that also could have been due to the fact that she couldn't see the screen.

Chrissa sang, of course, and she did really awesome! She even saved Kirsten, Emily and me at one point when we failed. She had to sing really loud for the human microphone to pick up her voice, but she managed.

Kit was in charge of strumming the guitar at the right time. She also hit the whami (sp?) bar during long notes.

Kailey was in charge of pressing the right buttons on the guitar. She was incredible! She claimed to have never played before, but I'm not sure I believe her.

Next we played hide and seek. Kirsten voluntered to be it. "1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-skip-a-few-100!" she yelled then ran to try to find us.

She found Kailey first. As you can see, she had a little trouble getting into her hiding place, one of Katie's sewing bags. Psst, Kailey, next time you wear a skirt, you might want to wear a pair of shorts underneath!

To Kailey's delight, Kirsten found Chrissa next, wedged between the trash and recycling cans.

Then the three out them found Emily underneath the pool table.

I though I was going to win, but then Kirsten found me over by the paper recycling bag. We searched for Kit, but couldn't find her. Finally, Kirsten called, "Ollie-ollie-oxen-free!"

"Here I am!" Kit said with a giggle, peering out from her hiding place behind the display shelves. We all agreed that was an awesome hiding spot, though we can't hide there anymore, because now it's the first place anyone will look!

Then I had to get a couple pictures of Kailey, Chrissa and me because when we're all in 40's clothes like we are here, I think we look like Linda, Susan and me. Don't you agree?

Neither picture turned out very good, but that's okay. After taking pictures, we all watched my movie. Then we had to go back to our part of the campus. This was the best birthday ever!!!!

~Molly McIntire~

PS: Look on the Doll Profiles Page, Katie changed my age!!!!!

PPS: Katie here now. I thought you might want to see some pics of my 11 year old bitty baby, Robby!

Here he's on a display shelf that I have (I'll show you some more pics of the shelf soon!) in a cradle I made about three years ago.

Isn't he so cute? He's missing some of his eyelashes, but I love him anyway. I still have his original meet sleeper, which he's wearing though you can't see it. Thanks for looking!

I am in such a good mood!

Hello, people of the world! As you can tell from the title, I am in an extremely good mood right now for multiple reasons.

1. I WON EMMA'S CONTEST!!! Yay! All of the entries were really cool, I didn't really expect to win!

2. I HAVE TEN FOLLOWERS!!!!! Thanks to Karen, I have reached my first follower milestone! Stay tuned for a special post and challenge for that . . . . .

3. THE DEVILS WON LAST NIGHT!!!! For those of you who have no clue what I'm talking about, the Devils are a hockey team, in fact they are my favorite hockey team. :) I went to the game and now have a new favorite player, Tedenby! He is like a rocket on the ice. Whoosh!

4. MY ANSWER FOR THE YOU SAID IT ON AG WAS POSTED!!! If you go on 'Girl Buzz' in the 'Fun For Girls' section of the website, you see the 'You Said It!' thing. My answer was the one with the chocolate cupcake with vanilla icing and vanilla icecream inside. (You'll know what I mean if you look.)

Hey! I was just looking at my stats and saw that I had a couple of visitors from foreign countries, like China and Switzerland! I, of course, appreciate all of my readers no matter where they are in the world, but I just find it cool that people from all over are enjoying American Girl World. Sorry!!!!

I'm sorry, I haven't been a very good blogger lately. I can't believe I haven't updated in a week and a half! As I said, I'm very sorry. I've been super busy with homework, piano, sewing, volleyball, etc. Plus, I've been working on Beauty and The Beast as quickly as I can so I can send it to Emma (who won my contest) and then show it to the rest of my amazing readers later. That's been taking up most of my doll time. So, once again, sorry and I'll hopefully be updating more soon. For now, here are my favorite retired modern girl AG outfits. (All of these photos belong to agplaythings.com, not me)

This is the slumber party gear and bear from 1996, that's before I was born! I love the mini twister (One of my favorite games!)

Midevel Princess outfit from 1998. I wish they still made lots of Halloween costumes, and doesn't this look really well made?

Such an adorable school outfit! I especially love the skirt. It's  the Plaid Skirt and Sweater outfit from 1999

Purple is my favorite color, and it looks great on this doll! The shirt is the best. This is the denim jumper outfit from 2001.

This is my last favorite, the Grecian Princess Costume from 2004. Isn't it awesome? I love the headdress to peices!

What's your favorite retired AG outfit(s)?

New Background And Such!

Just letting you know that I changed the background and got new animations. As you can see, I love music and Valentine's Day. I'll put up a new header pic soon, one that's more appropriate for the theme.
Do you love it, hate it, or think it's alright? Comment and let me know!

Just A Quick Update

Hey! Just saying that I discovered banners recently. I know it's kinda sad that I had no clue what a banner was until Emma told me, but now that I know what they are I love them! I made one for my website, it's on the side bar. If you want to put it on your website, just copy the code underneath it, and paste it in the html/java thing when you add a gadget. Do you like my banner? Comment and let me know!

PS I have some cool posts planned for the weekend, so check back in the next few days!

Fun In The SNOW!!!!!!!!

Hey everybody, what's up? Kailey here, telling you about all the fantastic SNOW we just got here! Being from California I'd never seen snow in real life until I came to Pleasant View. It is AWESOME for those of you who have never experienced it. I just had to go out and play in it first chance I got. It was seriously cold, though, so I had to get really bundled up.
Look at this massive pile of clothes! It comes up to my waist, at least. Oh, by the way sorry I'm just in long underwear here. It's my first layer. I borrowed it from Chrissa even though it's PINK! (In case you didn't know I suffer from pink-a-phobia. It's a chronic condition.)

Uh, I don't need all this stuff. This sweater is useless, and who want to wear socks that were made a hundred years ago, sheesh! "Kailey! If you go outside with less than that stuff on and get sick in my long underwear I'll make you buy me a new one!" Okay, fine Chrissa. Don't get your tinsel in a tangle.

*15 Minutes Later*
Almost ready to go, and I look like I don't know what, but not good. I'm wearing a flannel shirt (Molly's), snow pants (Emily's) A PINK sweater :O (Kit's) knit mittens (Kirsten's), two pairs of socks (Also Kirsten's. Are you noticing my lack of winter clothes?) A scarf and a hat (Finally! Something that's actually mine!).

Okay, I got on a jacket and boots (Both Emily's. I need to get Katie to buy me a winter outfit.). Time to go outside into the great outdoors!

WOOOOO! Walking on snow shoes is actually really fun! The snow is almost as high as I am, so I'm currently twice my normal height! Cool, huh? These are the snow shoes from Chrissa's winter set (This I didn't tell her I was borrowing, so please don't say anything.! ;)

Snow angel time! I make awesome snow angels because I am an angel. (Chrissa: Snorts)  Hey!

Isn't it beautiful? Of course it is- I made it! (Chrissa: *Laughs* Conceited, no not me.) Oh, you're one to talk!

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Snow tubing is hands down the most fun thing to do in the snow. Except for snowboarding. And Skiing. And maybe snowball fighting. But it's up there.

Thanks for reading about my fun in the snow! Do you get snow where you live? Did you play in it? Stay warm and happy winter!
~Hoops
